Besides dan Brown has given quite a few 'historical' lectures at not-so-esteemed universities... Anyway, it was a mildly amusing book. If you'd like to read something on Jesus and his buddies (and their offspring) may I suggest Bruno Bauer, or contemporary (well, almost contemporary; 19th century) writings on his work.
