I think ...Thanks for reading and commenting, Aaron. I think the key to success in Daytona 2001 is to forget everything you knew about the previous games in the series. In 2001, you'll get much better results if you treat it more like a Ridge Rcaer game and attempt to 'drift' around corners rather than turn into them. Took me a while to figure that out!
