Now that I think of it, isn't the Dreamcast a record breaking console? I mean, I can't recall any other console having games released so many years after the official death.
I dunno, there has been the odd release of Atari 2600 games here and there, including two this year I believe (Adventure 2 and some special edition of Pac-man).
Puzzle games are OK... What I'd really like is an RPG or racing game, a vs. fighter or a horror survival... But then I'm just being fussy! There are actually still plenty of DC games that I own and I've never played... Illbleed and Half Life, Resident Evil 2 and MDK to name but a few...
Nice to see there still are games coming out for the DC, but has fatherkrishna said, another type of games would be cool, expecially a RPG or a FPS (how many are there for the DC? I can only remember HL)
I agree with FK on this none, all the games that have been released for the DC are all SHMUP's. Not that they aren't cool its just that something like a RPG would really renew more interest in the DC.
By the way I thought the stopped production of GD-ROM's.
gagaman, I consulted a friend of mine who is an expert retro gamer and he says that only the Atari 2600 and the NES surpass the Dreamcast when it comes to games released after the official death. ;)
I thought it was seriously over for the Dreamcast, but I'm glad to see it's still alive and kickin'. I'm especially surprised to see something that's not a shmup (not that shmups are a bad thing).
Holy hell! I was convinced that the games we saw this year would be the last, but shame on me for doubting the power of the undead console!
ReplyDeleteFunny they should mention the GP2X, as I've just bought myself one of those today and I can't wait for it to arrive!
Fricking awesome!

Long live the undead console, indeed...

ReplyDeleteOK! I got very excited about Last Hope, 'cos I thought it was the Last Hope! But you know, I think the Dreamcast will never die!
ReplyDeleteThere will be underground titles coming up for the DC for years to come...
If only ONE of them could be something other than a SHMUP!
Jesus please....
Uh...FC did you not see that the Wind and Water game was a puzzle game and not a shump...
ReplyDeleteThough I dunno if you like puzzle games any better.
Crap!
ReplyDeleteI was also gonna do a special post when the hit counter went over 100,000 but that has came and went...

ReplyDeleteSoldner X must be absolutely amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'd like a new 2d fighter, there was this petition to get melty blood but it didn't work out

ReplyDeleteThey have stopped making GD-ROMs, these games will be released on MIL-CDs, like Last Hope and all those Bleem releases.
ReplyDeletezomg!
ReplyDeleteteh Mil-CDs will damage the Dreamcasts!!!
...hehehehe

ReplyDeleteLast Hope is in the post from Play-Asia as I speak. The money they get the more games they might bring us!
