PLAY Expo Blackpool returns on the 27th & 28th October 2018 with a
one-off retro special event, and The Dreamcast Junkyard is excited to announce that we will be partnering with the event organisers to celebrate 20 years of the Dreamcast!
It was on November 27th 1998 that the Dreamcast burst onto shelves in its native Japan, and now 20 years almost to the day we will be filling the Norcalympia Exhibition Centre in Blackpool, UK with as much Dreamcast-related awesomeness as possible to honour the years of fun the console has provided!
It won't all be about the Dreamcast, as systems from across the retro gaming spectrum will be available to enjoy, and there will be numerous traders selling all kinds of gaming paraphernalia. Over 100 arcade machines and 50 pinball tables will be available to play for free, and the LAN gaming section will offer multiplayer gaming on some of the PC's greatest titles.
As is the norm at PLAY Expo events, there will be a cosplay masquerade and range of speakers and panels, with well known YouTubers, podcasters and gaming personalities in attendance.
Naturally, The Dreamcast Junkyard crew will be manning the Dreamcast area, where visitors to the event will be greeted with an enormous number of consoles and peripherals to try out, as well as multiple indie games, arcade classics, cancelled games, and titles from pretty much every genre you can imagine all ready to be enjoyed.
